Our Story

Where Mountain Safety Meets Smart Wearables

Everest Groove Labs Limited began with a simple observation: climbers make critical decisions with impaired information. Cold dulls judgment, wind drowns communication, and the data that could keep a team safe lives on a phone buried at the bottom of a pack.

Founded by engineers and climbers in the United Kingdom, we set out to move that information onto the climber's face — into eyewear that stays on through cruxes, storms and descents. Bone-conduction audio keeps ears open. A heads-up display keeps route data in peripheral vision. Environmental sensors keep objective weather data flowing even when fatigue makes subjective judgment unreliable.

Today our glasses are worn by sport climbers, boulderers, alpine guides and expedition teams — all of whom helped shape them. We remain a small, obsessive studio: every frame is designed, tested and refined in-house, and we will not ship anything we wouldn't wear on our own objectives.

Four Principles on Every Frame

Our design decisions are filtered through the same four principles — from transducer placement to the shape of a nose pad.

Safety Before Spec Sheet

We never add a feature that narrows a climber's attention. Every system is judged on one question: does it make the athlete safer and more aware on the rock?

Engineer Like the Mountain Doesn't Care

Cold, wind, chalk, impact and time destroy ordinary electronics. We over-design every joint, seal and cell for the worst day the mountain can offer.

Test, Fail, Rebuild

Prototypes are frozen, dropped, wind-blasted and climbed in. Field failures are celebrated — each one is data that makes the production frame better.

Professional climbers, IFMGA guides, route setters and expedition medics sit in on every design review. The people who rely on the gear shape the gear.

From Bench to Bivouac: Our Testing Process

A frame reaches your face only after surviving every stage of a process designed to be unfair to prototypes.

Bench Engineering

Components are designed and validated at our Gloucestershire lab — acoustics, optics, sealing and cold-cell performance on instrumented rigs.

Climate & Impact Chambers

Full frames are cycled to −30°C, blasted at 80km/h with grit and spindrift, and drop-tested onto granite slabs. Nothing skips this stage.

Athlete Field Programmes

Prototypes go to climbing partners across sport, bouldering, alpinism and expedition teams — logging real routes in the Alps, Scotland and the Himalaya.

Production Hardening

Field data drives final tolerances. Only frames that survive the full gauntlet across two seasons earn the Everest Groove Labs name.
